DAY 1st: Arrival in Athens. Transfer from Eleftherios Venizelos airport to our centrally located 4* hotel in Athens. Allocation in the rooms. Free evening. Arrange a walk in the center of Athens and explore the Athenian secrets! Walk around the picturesque squares of Plaka, view the monuments in Ancient Agora and have dinner in a traditional Greek taverna with Greek music (OPA!!!) DAY 2nd: Transfer to the port of Piraeus early in the morning. One -day cruise to the Saronic Gulf and the islands of Poros, Hydra and Aegina. Lunch and Greek show on board. In the afternoon, we return to our Hotel in Athens. DAY 3rd: CHOOSE BETWEEN ONE OF THE HEREBELOW MENTIONED OPTIONS: 1st CITY TOUR CHOICE: Morning Athens Sightseeing: Panoramic drive around Syntagma Square, National Garden, Hadrian’s Arch, St. Paul’s Church, Parliament, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Schliemann’s House, Catholic Cathedral, Academy, University, National Library and Russian Orthodox Church. Continue for Panathinaiko Stadium where the first Olympic games took place in 1896. Pass by the Prime Minister’s residence, Ex Royal Palace and Zappion Hall. Proceed, passing by Roman Temple of Olympian Zeus. Continue to the archaeological site of Acropolis, an UNESCO’s heritage monument and visit Propylae, Temple of Athena Nike, Erechtheion and Parthenon. 2nd CITY TOUR CHOICE: Morning Athens Sightseeing: City tour as mentioned above. The Acropolis Museum: After Acropolis, we continue with a pleasant walk, passing by Herodion and Dionysus Theater. Visit to the New Acropolis Museum. 3rd CITY TOUR CHOICE: Athens One-Day Tour: From the Acropolis to Omonia Square we will see the famous sites of ancient and modern Athens, offering a perfect overview of the modern city. After having seen Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum we will visit Cape Sounion, one of the most beautiful suburbs of Athens (about 45 minutes from the center of Athens). We will have lunch and after lunch we will depart for a wonderful drive along the scenic road, which offers a splendid view to the Saronic Gulf. We will visit the Temple of Poseidon. Return to the hotel in Athens late in the afternoon. |
| DAY 4th: Day trip to Delphi and Arachova Village: Departure from the hotel early in the morning. Drive to Delphi, almost 260 km from Athens. Delphi is one of the most prestigious oracles in the Greek world, known as “the navel of the world” and world heritage of UNESCO.Via the national highway, passing by Thebes and Livadia we will arrive in Delphi. Famous for its theater, Temple of Apollo and ancient ruins, Delphi was considered to be the center of the earth and the universe and played a central role in the classical Greek world.
Pass by the Castalia Spring and visit the archaeological site of the Temple of Apollo, famous for its oracle, Athenian Treasure and the famous Museum of Delphi with its spectacular finds, including the unique bronze Charioteer, the Naxian Sphinx and the Statue of Antinoos.
After lunch we will drink coffee in one of the most traditional, however cosmopolitan, villages in Greece, Arachova, which is built on the south slopes of Mountain Parnassus. Parnassus is the most famous ski resorts in Greece.Return to Athens late in the evening.
DAY 5th: Wine tasting Excursion: Early in the morning we depart from our hotel. Heading to Ancient Corinth, we stop at Corinth canal. Ancient Corinth was the richest port and the largest city in ancient Greece. We will see the famous “isthmus” of Corinth, which connects the Peloponnesus to the mainland. After Corinth, we proceed to visit Nemea Vineyards.
Greece is a country well known for its viticulture. Nemea is one of the most popular vineyards in Greece. We will visit the state of the art winery facilities and learn everything for the production of Greek quality red wines. We will then proceed to the underground cellars and make the wine tasting. Return to Athens late in the evening.
DAY 6th: Transfer to Eleftherios Venizelos Airport. Fly back home. Enjoy your flight ☺ |
